My Background.
Aloha, my name is Trang Hammond. Throughout my undergraduate studies and careers, I have always gravitated towards clinical and geriatric care. I received my BS in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego where I focused my undergrad research on the correlations between Tau proteins and Alzheimer’s Disease. From there I worked at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center coordinating clinical trials for Oncology patients. I continued on as the founder and interim director for the office for clinical trials coverage analysis where I ensured medical procedures were billed properly under federal law.
I loved patient care but I also found how daunting navigating the healthcare system was for many patients and that steered me towards attaining my MPH in health administration and policy at San Diego State University.
Why become a Senior Advocate?
As a senior care advocate with CareSift, I am able to combine my understanding of dementia, my experience with patient care, my knowledge of navigating the health care system, and most importantly, understanding the value of every penny saved.
My kuleana is with my community and the families that I assist. I am proud and excited every day to do what I do.
A little about myself.
Aside from work, I cherish beach days with my family, gardening, hiking and fiddling around with my guitar. I hope to have the honor of assisting your family one day. Aloha Nui Loa, Trang.
