Community care foster family homes (CCFFH) are non-institutional residential homes that provide a family setting for residents who need a higher levels of care.  Similar to expanded adult residential care homes, these facilities are in a residential setting; however, residents of CCFFH live with the home-owner family (hence the name ‘foster’).  These homes provide assistance with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and walking) and more advanced level of care.  These homes accept residents who can privately pay and those covered under Medicaid.  These homes provide wonderful options for residents to obtain a higher level of care in a non-institutional family setting.
