This is a review of CareSift and in particular of Alexa Rodriquez.
I live on the island of Kauai. My husband, has Alzheimer’s. He started having issues at age 58 and by the time he was 65, he was living in Memory care. I am a retired nurse and over the years he relocated back and forth between the mainland and Kauai. During 2024, I brought him back to Kauai, since he was unhappy at his facility. I tried my best to care for him but I could not handle the 24/7 care he needed. His wandering, behavior and personality changes were too much emotionally for me. I knew I needed help but resources on Kauai were limited. With no memory care beds available, I turned to the Alzheimer’s association. She put me in contact with CareSift to consider another Island.
After making contact with CareSift, it was a very rapid process to find a new facility for my husband on Oahu. I want to tell you how much Alexa helped in this process. She communicated with me several times a day, genuinely cared about me and whole heartedly worked on this process. She arranged for me and [my husband] to visit several places and even helped get a physician to do the necessary admit papers. Once we decided on a Friday which facility he would moved into, the following Monday, my son flew from Oahu to Kauai and traveled with his Dad to settle him in. The next day, Tuesday, I was able to have a surgical procedure and come home to rest without the worry of caring for a demented man.
Alexa followed up with me to make sure things were secure. It has been just over 2 months and my husband seems content with his new surroundings.
I am forever grateful for CareSift services and suspect I will utilize them again in time.
